I just realized i never properly introduced myself :) I am an animal lover ( of course) and i like to read and do photography in my spare time ... plus the usual outdoor activities hiking swimming etc.

I am also the proud mommy to a bunch of fuzzbutts

I have 5 rats , 1 boy and 4 girls. Apollo is my 2 1/2 year old boy and he is having surgery for a mass removal soon. Then there are Mei ( pronounced May) and Ember my 1 year old girls and last but not least Aura and Iris my 4 month olds :) all 5 share a double critter nation

i also have two 1 1/2 year old male hamsters, Lynx is my white faced Robo and Bear my sapphire winter white :)

Then we have the biggest brat of all ... my cat Emma , she is my almost 2 year old Torti and she is an insane little thing ( but spoiled of course)

last but not least is Finn my Betta boy who has a heavily planted 5 hex

i am a firm believer in giving animals the very best you can, but i still insist on manners ... my cat knows to sit and wait for her treats ... the rats really just know mommy means love and food lol

i will not lie i am a very doting owner and will defend my munchkins with all i have ... that being said ... please if you do not like rats do not respond negatively

oh i almost forgot ... i am working on an ADF tank and planning an axolotl tank when we have room

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
