Okay, so here is a link to a video, you can see it best in there. When he stands still sometimes his tail goes all wavy like that. Once he starts moving it's fine. Is this normal? I also want to know if he is still to young to tell the gender. (I really hope he's a boy ahah)

Also, since I haven't posted in a while, does he look healthy? :3

The tail is nothing to be worried about. Mine do that from time to time. And she looks healthy. Yes - she. Sorry to deliver the news, but to make you smile I tell you that I named mu before sexing and got female named Leonidas... What can you do?

Ah it's not big deal! Ahah I will probably continue to refer to her as male. X) Thank you for that though. I've been worring that something is wrong.

I agree. It looks too young. Juvies pretty much always look female even if they're just young males.

I honestly have no idea how old Tino is. I've had him for about a month, and the petsore I had gotten him said that he had been there for a month. He's about 3 1/2- 4 inches if that helps any. I can't measure exactly how long because he's slanted right now

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
