I've had two axolotls for about two months now. They have been living in separate Rubbermaid containers since I got them, as they were only about three inches long and I didn't want them to have the inclination to harm each other.
They are about five inches long now, and I have a tank ready and cycled. They'll probably move in with each other in a week or two.
I have a few questions about this:
- Are they still considered too young to interact? Should I wait longer?
- What would be the best method for moving them?
- I was thinking about letting them meet each other this weekend--move one into the other's tank for a little bit while observing them to see how they react to each other. Thoughts?
- If they do meet each other this week, what should/could I do if they started acting violently towards the other one?
Thanks for the help!
