I have finally found a local shop that will stock worms however he said dedrobaena are the only he can get just now, i know about doing it myself ect but just dont have the time right now so settling for convienience lol .. Will these type be suitable for axolotl? X

Yes, just make sure they are organically raised ie chemical free.

Went to pick up my worms and he sai he has a friend who feeds axolotl maggots he said as long as they are natural and undyed they are ok, is this true? X

Not as a staple diet no, I know of people who feed them very occasionally as a treat.

Just FYI Dendrobaenas (Dendrobaena species) are simply common earthworms, though you'll likely be digging them up in your garden all the time. They don't get as big as the 'lob' worms which are Lumbricus terrestris. Most variety of earthworms are safe for amphibians if, as ian says, are raised organically with no pesticides or herbicides in sight.

Thankyou jane :) i thought when i opened the box they just looked like skinnier earthworms haha . Yes all raised organically ect already asked that part :) thankyoy. X

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
