I have about 60 fire belly newt tadpoles. I suck out their old food with a turkey Baster. They pretty much always have food (baby shrimp brine) in their tank. They are eating extremely well. I was just wondering if they will over eat? Some of them literally pursue food and others wait for it to pass.

For larvae, there is no such thing as overeating. You want them to grow as fast as possible, to get them as large as possible before metamorphosis.

Don't try to "hold back" the largest, most aggressive feeders. All of them should get as much as they will eat. This may mean that you have to separate them by size at some point.

If they are eating this well, I'd recommend switching them over to live blackworms as soon as possible.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
