Hey everyone, I have a paddletail newt and I'm looking for an Aquarium chiller that would be right for him and his tank. I've looked at other parts of the site and it's all going over my head a little bit really. I have a 60L/15Gallon (US) tank that's about 50L full, there's pictures of it here: Caudata.org Newt and Salamander Forum - Alex Dow's Album: Tank - Picture Though the water level is about ¾'s of the tank now rather than half.

I live in the UK and my normal tank temperature is between 17-20 degrees C or 63-68F, however, with summer coming up I want to be prepared so I can deal with any heatwaves or just general increases in temperature.

I have a budget of about £100-£120 though it could go a little higher if needed, if this isn't enough I'm more than happy to take on advice for other ways to cool the tank, though they'd probably need to be explained quite simply.

Thanks in advance for your help.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
