My aquarium temp. tends to change quite a bit from about 60-68 degree F.
I was wondering if that would cause any stressful issues, if so what can I do to stop it from fluctuating so much?

That's a bit odd... where is your tank located? Having the tank near a window, air conditioner, fan, or heater could change the temperature. A tank light could change the temperature as well.

Water naturally gets cooler at night, so if that's when it cools I wouldn't worry too much because its slow and gradual, letting the lotl adjust to it over time.

I don't think this is too big a variation, you are well within the comfort zone of axolotls at the moment, just watch that things don't get too much hotter in summer! If you were saying 68-75F I'd be saying cool it!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
