Have 4 glowing Axies and they all seem happy but one. He/she is the smallest of the bunch and doesn't seem to be eating the bloodworms I'm feeding it. It's back legs still hasn't come in yet either because it's still a baby. Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I don't keep axies myself, so I hope someone weighs in!
Maybe the bloodworms are too big. Chop them up smaller? Separate him and feed him separately so that he doesn't have to compete for food? Try other food?

Hi there
You could try feeding your little one live blackworms if you can get hold of some.
Welcome to the forums too ☺

I bought some at 'just got back legs' stage and fed them on bloodworm. I, too, had one that only had back leg stubs and was not eating the bloodworm. The others left it well behind in growth and I had to separate it because of the huge size difference. I put it in a tub of its own and moved it somewhere warmer (21 degrees) and fed it on daphnia and white worms for a couple of weeks (because I could get hold of these foods), then started it on small bloodworms. After a couple of months it caught up with the others in size. I'm keeping this one. Its called Blip and you'll find a picture of it on the cute axie thread.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
