I currently have two axolotls lola and swampert, lola is 13cm and swampert is 18 so they are kept in two seperate tanks (this occured due to lola being ordered online). Is lola large enough to have ghost shrimp in her tank and how many should there be, I will post pictures shortly.

p.s. Would ghost shrimp be beneficial to the tank, i have heard they clean whaste and provide good entertainment.

Ghost shrimp are very entertaining indeed. However they will be a very tasty snack for your axolotl. Even juvenile axolotls larger than 2 inches will make short work of fully grown ghost shrimps. So if its in your budget go ahead and put them in, just make sure your axolotls are well fed on worms or pellets to minimize shrimp casualties.

I've kept them together for a while, my axolotls seem to enjoy their tasty friends.

I regularly feed mine bloodworms, sometimes I try to feed them cleaned earthworms but they just spit them out later.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
