Sorry another eating question

Hi, I have 3 new Axies that I got on the weekend. Because they had already eaten on the Saturday I didn't feed them until the Sunday night. They were not remotely interested in anything like bloodworms, pellets, or even worms. However each was more than happy to eat a piece of fresh (not smoked) salmon. Since then, 2 have not eaten anything else..! 1 is still more than happy to eat salmon...nothing else. When should I be starting to really worry about the lack of eating? The last time they ate was Sunday night. It is now Wednesday night. I've been keeping a log of all water condition and they all seem fine and they have a chiller as well set at 16 centigrade...I'm worried as I spent nearly $1000 to make sure I had everything possible covered. Thank you:confused:

Are they adult axies. They can go for a long time without food (but don't starve them to death). A few days aren't that much. I guess they're just not hungry. Or picky eaters.
Keep offering them food every day. If they're hungry, they'll eat!

Another thing: Maybe they'll need to get used to their new environment. If they're more comfortable they'll walk around more often and also eat like a normal lotl.

Hi Dolores, I've been told they were 4-6 months old. 2 are about 4.5 to 5 inches long and the other about 5.5 inches. One of my Axies seems to be having a pretty good time...it's happily swimming the length of the tank and is very inquisitive, that's the one that's eating. The other 2 are just hiding and not moving much at all, if they do show interest in food they spit it straight back out. I've read that many people seem to only feed them every 3-4 days...not sure when I should start really worrying...

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
