Set up this new fry tank for the eggs that my female laid today!
So incredibly excited! It will be my first time raising little babies,
any advice from more experienced breeders?

My only advice: Don't try to raise them all. Start with a dozen or so, sell/cull the rest. Trying to raise 300 babies your first time is overwhelming.

I raised 30 my first time(i got them from the same person i got my two juvies from) and i found that was overwhelming! But if it ever happened again id be ready and lnow what im doing so i think itd be better

I have only just started as my eggs only hatched 1-2 weeks ago. I sold some and kept 20. of the 20 i kept i had 18 hatch (one didnt make it after a few days) i have them split across 3 tubs at the minute but plan to segregate them more when they get a bit bigger. It can take time to clean them out every day especially as you dont want to hurt them and they move so fast getting them clean etc can be a carry on
Good luck :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
