Hi everyone, I'm Carly from Wisconsin. I'll be going to school for biology and wildlife in the Fall, going to UWSP as a Junior. I knew the school was right for me when I toured it a year ago and they had axolotls in their aquarium room! I plan on selling my 10g and buying a 20g so I can get an axie of my very own when I move into my apartment. The problem is I don't know where to get one! If anyone in the area has one to sell, please PM me!

A little more on me: I had fish but got rid of them, currently just have a java fern growing tank at the moment. I'm 20, ride horses, have 2 cats named Molly and Mercer, and can't wait to get a new axolotl buddy!

Welcome to the forum! Keep you eye on the For Sale section of the forum and axies will pop up eventually...

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
