My copper axolotls arrived in the mail today and I'm having trouble deciding what to name them. Usually it takes me about ten seconds to come up with a name, but with these two, I am officially stumped. I've kinda been trying to come up with German theme, but I can't seem to come up with anything good. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's some pics:

I don't know how hard core you want to go with the german theme, but here are the translations for:

Copper: Kupfer

Penny: Pfennig (closest to the old lowest denominator coin in old Germany)

I like Pfennig as a name, it's cute! :D

Here's a few German names off the top of my head.
Girls- Heidi, Anja, Eva, Tanja, Hilda
Boys- Bruno, Klaus, Kristoffersson, Wolfgang, Lars
That's a few. Of course, you could always google German names.

A lot of people have named their axolotl toothless which is "Zahnlos" in German. Axolotls are carnivores so maybe "Räuber" which means predator in German would work.

Thanks for the ideas. Much better than anything I've came up with. The only German names I could come up so far with were things like mercedes, bratwurst, and jagermeister :D

Look up some WW1 German generals, a lot of them had cool names like Helmuth Von Moltke, Falkynhan, Otto von Bismark, Hindenberg, Luddendorf, etc...

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
