He is now swimming the right way up. And has only a tiny bible left in his tummy. He's so small I obviously could'nt rub his tummy to help him along. What I did do though was take him out the fridge a couple times a day, and using a pipette, I gently dripped little drops of water on his tummy. He seemed to really enjoy it. And it could be coincidental, but it seems to have worked. Will keep him fridged for another couple days to let him rest, then I'll let him back in his tank. Soooooo so relieved. Family and friends told me to give up and put him out his misery. I refused to. And I'm so glad I didn't give up on him. :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
