Hey all! So yesterday on a trip to Toronto, I met up with Orchid225 and acquired some axies! 1 melanoid (Glenn), 1 leucistic (Kirby), and 2 albino leucistics(Unnamed) :D All have their front/back legs and can swim fine. They are each in their own container at the moment and I have a tank that's already up and running (I have to get dividers today) that the axies are going to go in. They don't seem nippy at all, and haven't eaten anything since yesterday, even when I gave them each a few bloodworms this morning. When should I take them out of the containers and let them stay in the tank? They are all around 2-2.5", same as Axel.

Sorry, size-wise it was supposed to say 1.5-2", the leucistic and wildtype the largest of the four! :p So they are not the same size as Axel

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
