Hey :) I've looked into soemDIY chillers and the problem is i'm just not that technically minded BUT as a present my parents are helping me buy a aquarium chiller for my axies :-D. During the UK heatwave they have been stored in the fridge most of it and my tank without any of the fans on it has now risen to 27 degrees C!

I was wondering if people have any recomemdations of brands or models that they have found effective?

Well i live in tropical north queensland. And i bought a Resun CL450 off ebay i am pretty sure they import them cheaply out of china as it is all in chinese. But in our 42deg celc humidity of summer it hasnt missed a beat. We are in our cooler mths now so is only kicking over few times a day. But a fridge mech mate looked at it the other day saying its still all good...

I know there are better brands out there. But my experience on this model is flawless.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
