Hi guys :)

Just got a new custom made tank divider. It's acrylic border with fly mesh in the middle to allow flow and stuff. Well the guy made it with aquarium safe glue or aquarium safe silicon (Not sure which). It was made... I think a week ago and I just got it today. Will it be safe to use in the tank straight away? Or should I let it sit around longer or soak it first or something? It stinks real bad of like chemically smell... So I thought maybe I should soak it in some water first or something...

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
