Hello all! My name is Peter and I own a one year old male melanoid axolotl named Thrasher.
I have a love for all amphibians though, and have plans to expand my collection one day and would love to one day help Thrasher become a daddy! :) I have been cruising around this forum for the past month or two and am finally becoming a member after becoming enthralled with practically all of the topics out there. So, I am really excited to be a part of this and can't wait to see what else I can learn from all of you!
Sincerely,
Peter

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
