Hi guys,

Thought it would be cool to put a thread up for people to post pictures of their baby axes (probably is one around already, but did not feel like looking through the threads). Anyway here are some of mine, I've got six three week old ones and two 10 week old ones :)

And they've got teeny little front legs now, I'm so enamored with these little guys.

The green isn't showing up as much in these pictures, but you can see the difference between the tan/caramel colored ones and the greener ones. The greener ones are GFP.

I wish I could like your last post over and over. They are awesome :D I wish we lived in the same country, I'd be more than happy to snatch 1 or 2

My little guys have grown nicely:

I have two hatchlings today, Boxing Day 2013.....omgggggggg....what am I doing??????

All the eggs seem to contain dark babies, so am assuming that they will all be dark axies (if I can keep them alive).

I have only kept 16 of the 600 plus eggs( as I'm a first timer on the egg front), and all are about the same size...the eggs were laid on the 14th December 2013 so was surprised that these two hatched so quickly. They're lively little things....just gotta get the feeding bit right now. Have done lots and lots of reading on this site so........all crossed.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
