I've been brought to this website soo many times from doing research on axolotls, and I finally decided to become a part of it!

I currently have one axolotl named Onyx who is 8 inches now and around 7 or 8 months. I plan to get him a friend whenever possible after I move him to my 55 gallon tank!

I'm a cat person, but I'm into aquatics as well and just love Onyx so much :)
I have five cats, one dog, three ferrets, one axolotl, two african dwarf frogs, one betta, and I did have eight turtles, but they just recently left to hibernate!

I'm currently still in school and I work at an animal hospital part time.

Hopefully that sums things up for you guys :p

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to you and your 'home zoo'.

Make sure you ask Otterwoman about her ferrets, she loves ferrets

hahaha Thank you, and those are only My animals, I didn't include everyone else's! :p

Once I figure out how to find her, i will contact her then :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
