Hi guys,

I'm familiar with this site and I am now a member, as I am searching for a pair of Piebald Axolotls but have had no luck in finding any in Ballarat, does anyone on here know where I may be able to get them? Much appreciated :)

Casey

Piebald axolotls are very rare creatures and from what I understand are one-offs. The chances of being ale to buy a pair are next to none. Good luck with your quest and if you do ever find any please post some photos.

Regards Neil

Yes, they are very rare and when they do occur, the owners usually want to keep them!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
