so I just went and picked up tiny little guys from
a breeder in a town close to mine. the lighting at her house wasn't all that great, but now that I have them in the tank I now see that they are super green. they came from two wild types(I saw their mommy and daddy) just thought I would share them and also wanted to know if anyone had seen lotls like these cute little guys:)

I've seen green axolotls like those before.

But I do have to say, those two are absolutely beautiful <3

Wild Types can vary from a very dark brown to a very pale greeny-grey - Alkyhalide's Texas is very green! :) They can come in these colours but it appears to be a little less common than the very dark ones. I've seen a newish one this morning that was a very pale green.

Very pretty lotls! :)

What cuties, I would love to a couple of this color, I have been looking for this color for a while now, either this color or a copper color.
I wish I was back up there on the Rez, So I would be close enough to maybe get a sibling of your guys.

I love the wide variety of wildtype colors out there. These look like cute pickles with gills :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
