My two axies just laid their first ever bunch of eggs and from what I can tell there seems to be roughly 80, how many should I expect to survive into adulthood?
Thanks :)

There may be a lot more than 80 by the time your female has finished, some females take a few days to deposit their full clutch. The hatch rate will be anywhere from 0-100% - you just can't tell!

After a week you will be able to see if any are developing as the tiny axie inside the egg will start to change shape - from dot to comma shape. Any that show no signs of development after 10 days will probably not hatch.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
