since I'm from Texas? Though I don't think I've ever said that outloud... lol

My name is Danie and I'm most interested in axolotls :D

I'm just beginning to set up my 55gal tank, so it'll be a few months before an addition. I'm just really glad that Caudata is here, or else I would of given up this idea before it had fully formed. :)

I had so many questions that I didn't have to ask, because it was all answered and posted before.. I'm already loving this site!

Thank you!!

Welcome and Howdy to you as well. Here in the South of the Netherlands we say something that sounds a lot like "Howdo" when we leave. Hope you'lle find yourself a nice axie.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
