What's the best way to travel with an axolotl? I'm thinking a critter keeper, but I'm afraid he will slosh around and get stressed.. I'll be travelling around the state speaking about axolotls and I would love to bring him along to one or two of them.

:wacko:Hi, I have travelled with Aztec a few times, and right on a critter keeper is the way to go. He even seems to like to go he seems to know when he gets in the critter keeper he's going some place, he will sorta stand up on his hide and look out of the water. It's hard to explain it's just an Axie thang I guess:D

Aw well that's good news!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
