Hii. I'm taking my axolotl to school tomorrow for a speech and a career presentation ( becoming a wildlife biologist, and I want to go to xochimilco to help the reintroduction of axolotls) but the problem is I'm staying at another house tonight and going straight to school in the morning. If I put him in fresh dechloronated water tonight in a critter keeper, will he be okay until after school tomorrow? He's used to a bubble curtain so I'm worried about the change of oxygen.

Is there anyway you can prepare some clean dechlorinated water and change it in the morning before school/ midway through school? Like an esky or something that can keep it cool?

I just ended up taking him back home. Haha. So many people loved him!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
