Hello to all members,

I'm new on caudata forum, my english is so and so, forgive me when I make big mistakes!
My name is Luca and I'm italian, actually I breed Hypselotriton orientalis (with successfull breeding in 2012), Ommatotriton ophryticus and two Notophthalmus viridescens. I have a great passion for this last specie, and I'm looking for CB individuals... can you help me? ;)

To share my passion for amphibians, I created an amateur site The Jumping Newt: appunti di allevamento su Cynops orientalis e Notophthalmus viridescens, where I updated caresheet on H. orientalis and N. viridescens

Hi!
Luca

Welcome Luca. I'm a noto keeper as well. Alas I haven't got a lot offspring this year. I believe we spoke about notos and the fact that I visit Italy (Albenga) every year.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
