I just wanted to say Thank You !

My son has become extremely interested in Axolotls. We are all set up and ready to be new owners and there is no way we could have figured it out without caudate.org.

We are currently searching for a breeder in the Carolinas, if you know of one please let us know.

Thanks again

Hello and welcome to the forum! I would suggest keeping an eye on the For Sale section of this forum.

I'm in North Carolina as well and searching for the same thing. My husband wants to get at least 4 in various colors so it is going to be a challenge since we don't have a lot of money.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
