Hi all!

I was wondering how you people tell if a newt is male or female? In T. Granulosa I tell the males by the vent, i think i am decently accurate.....well ill find out in the breeding season anyhow :p. But i have heard you can also tell the males apart by the leg length how flattened the ventral surface is. Is there any other ways? And what do you usually do to tell males and females apart? Not just in T. grans but all newts and salamanders. -Seth
