Hello,

My name is Robert and I live in southeast Michigan. My son and I are interested in becoming leucistic axoltl owners. Any breeders in this area feel free to email me!!!

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum. Keep an eye on the forum's For Sale section.

I am pretty sure an outfit called The Fish Doctors in Ypsilanti has them. I think that they buy from a local breeder, since you mentioned local. If not, then check our members search list, because 90% of the members indicate what state they are from, again allowing you to keep it local. If you can't find what you are looking for locally, then Jan's info about the link to the for sale forum is your ticket. A lot of helpful people with a lot of good pups for sale!!!
Welcome Trace

I know last time I was there, SeaWorld GardenWorld in Roseville had some wild types for sale. They were on gravel and fairly pricey, but they're the only ones I've seen so far

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
