So I just got my first 3 axolotls, as a surprise gift so I wasn't entirely ready for them but, I have a 15 gal tall tank with a black granite bottom cut to fit and you can see the rest, but I have a bubble towards the top do I need it? And eventually within the next month or so I plan on gettin a 20 long and then using my 55 once they grow, open to suggestions!

Umm how do I post I picture? Lol I uploaded to image shack but urls won't work

I believe axolotls typically need about 10 gal each, so a 55 would be great for three adults.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
