Hi, i´ve got an axie (but it is small 14cm) and i want a partner for him/she, where they are sold they are 6-7cm, and i want to know how to differentiate them (because if i buy one, and it is not the oppsite sex that i have, i won´t get offspring:(, and i want axolotl´s offspring, it will be amazing:ufo:).
In internet i found how to know the sex but when they´re adults. if you have any advice or a tip to these problem i´ll be so grateful.

You can't reliably sex a juvenile.
Once they get to AT LEAST 9 months/8 inches you can sometimes see, but some are late bloomers as Mike said.

Or find someone selling an adult. Be careful pairing up two lotls of different sizes though to avoid ending up with 1 1/2 lotls.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
