Turns out the two male axolotl I have ended up being a male and female. My female starting laying eggs much to my surprise a few hours ago. I can't keep the eggs and I would like to avoid just freezing them. So...

Does anyone want them? I have no idea how to care for/ship them, but I'm really good at following directions if anyone wants them and can tell me how to do that.

Also, how can I prevent this from happening again? I will put them in different tanks if I must, but if there is any way I can keep them in the same tank I would rather do that.

Thanks all for reading.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
