My 5 inch axie doesn't seem like the glutton she once was. My 4.5 inch axie is about a month or two younger and is eagerly wanting to eat everything and Saskia is around 4 months old now. She seems to be slowing down on wanting food. Is this the age and size I should start feeding every other day?

From what I've seen/read, axolotls can vary on most things. A good feeding schedule really just kind of depends on your axie! Feed them as often as you know they'll eat/they're hungry, and you should be good. At the least, every other day won't hurt it at all.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
