I'm Amanda, and I've recently discovered axolotls while in my biology class! I fell in love instantly, and when I found out they are quite easy to care for, I did a lot of research in order to get one. I hopefully will get one soon, probably from a seller on here!

If anyone knows of any Colorado sellers, tell me! I'd rather do a local pickup than a shipment.

Thanks for reading!!

Welcome to the forum

I don't know any breeders in Colorado but I am sure there are some. Good luck with your search for axies! -Seth

Awesome :) This is the best place to come for information and to find a breeder! I don't know of any in Colorado, but I've had fine experiences having axies shipped if you have to!

Thank you both for the welcomes! It's unfortunate that neither of you are aware of any CO breeders, but I appreciate the help nonetheless!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
