I rather buy in person also shipping is so damn expensive...
Any help??
i live in Orange County about an hr. away from NYC

If you buy from a breeder on this site shipping is generally only 15 dollars, and you get the added bonus of knowing the animal came from a well-cared for environment. Axolotls in pet stores have often ingested gravel or have other health problems.

Don't be hesitant to order thru the mail.the shipping cost is just part of the price of the animal. Pet shops are usually brutal on their stock and are really limited anyway. If you do your homework, research and write to people, you will discover things I bet you never knew were out there, and better yet,be able to obtain them.

I would recommend ordering here .. or katsaquatics. Shipping is worth it for a well cared for animal that will most likely live longer

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
