I got my first axolotl, I'm so happy! I cycled the tank and i've been doing water changes he is about two and half inches long. but i was just wondering:
What kind of sand is the safest for an axolotl when he gets bigger? i've heard all kind of suggestions and the lady my local pet store got the axolotls from suggested exo terra river sand but it's expensive from walmart at 32 dollars for a 10 pound bag.
How big does he have to be to eat worms? I know he's too small now. He is being fed brine shrimp and bloodworms right now.
Also he doesn't have a filter yet, no aquarium store in my area sells sponge filters, is a weekly water change at 25% enough?
