I am from Houston and I don't need a vet at this time but I would hate to not have one on hand when an emergency is presented. So my question is. How do you find a vet for axies? Does anyone have and recommendations of you are from Houston?

Thanks for your help,

hi the best way is to call around to what is local to you also you can Google the closet ones and when you call ask if they cant help who they can refer you too for amphibians good luck

If not do what i did- call near by vets to you and they should know of a vet who can assist you and your axies if needed :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
