I am confused about this, so if there is a link that will explain can someone just point me to it? - My question is if Leucistic is recessive and both parents are Leucistic, does that mean that all offspring would have to be Leucistic? Or is that just way too oversimplified?

Yes, all babies will be leucistic, but there may also be some other hidden recessive genes in the mix. If both parents carry an albino gene some of the babies (25%) will also be albino - they will be white albinos rather than gold.

Got it!! Thank you so much for the clarification.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
