Hello all,
I am new to the forum! I have three axolotls! One black, gold albino, albino. Soon to be four! Getting a wild type in a few days! Cant wait to get to know you :]

Hope you enjoy this forum as much as I do. It is a wealth of helpful information, and there are numerous people here who are always willing to help you out with any situation that may arise. I have no idea how I would have coped with my new axolotl without them. If I had followed the advice of the fish shop guy, Boris would be long dead by now I suspect.
So welcome. You have found a truly wonderful resource here.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
