I have posted about my golden albino recently but i want to ask if ive done the right thing.
He hasnt eaten in a week (apart from 1 little earthworm last night)
For the past week his body shape has been very strange. Very swollen on one side and very flat the other side. He hasnt pooped properly in a week either. Hes done 2 tiny poops which have been bright green.
He stays in one place with his back legs in the air and gills flapping every 2-3 seconds. Not interested in any food.
Water is fine 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 40 nitrate.
Today i have put him in the fridge. Never done this before. Put him in a tub and hes moving around (not aggressively though) like he wants to get out.
Should i have put inthe fridge? If yes, how long should i keep him in there for? :(

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
