I have noticed my axies have become very active over the last few days. Figuring mating may soon occur I have been observing them closely. As of this morning I witnessed one of my males place a spermatophore on a piece of drift wood. I have not been able to find any others in the tank. It just seems odd to me that he only placed one.
1. Is there any way of telling if a female has been fertilized, except when the eggs appear?
2. In case the female has been fertilized, is it too stressful to move the female to another tank to lay eggs for a few days?
