I acquired / rescued an axie last week....she hadn't been kept very well and was a little on the skinny side with very short stubby gills with hardly any frills on them.
I started off feeding her up slowly and she is now starting to look a little more rounded in her body like my two females, although she is yet to poo! I hope, eventually, to introduce her to the big tank and have her live with the other ladies.
My question is, is there anything I can do to assist her in her gill recovery or is she likely to retain her short stubby gills now?
