Just when I thinking of emptying one of my large tanks to down size I came across a beautiful three toed amphuima at my local fish shop. Since he/she was in a tank with fish & no hides I decide to bring he/she home. I adjusted the aquarium more to its happy hiding self. Now I know the care sheets says feed them once a week but how much do you think it should get? It's about 2 feet long. I fed it 3 nightcrawlers today & there are a few guppies to munch hanging out in there. It looks a heathy weight. I'd post a picture but my phone is acting up. I will have to later on when I put it on my computer.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
