I feed my Axi earth worms, but unfortunetly a lot of dirt comes off even if I clean them. Can this be an issue? Also my mum fed him today, and so did my dad so he's been fed three times =_= so I won't feed him for a few days but can this cause an issue too? Thanks!

The dirt will release a lot of nitrates and other stuff into the water but isn't really harmful. No matter how clean the worms are most will still have dirt inside them. I've never had dirt bother my axolotls

So if I change the water 20% weekly and add chemicals it should be ok?

It should be fine with just normal maintenance. Always just Check the parameters and if you see nitrates going up just do a water change. The only thing you should be using is dechlorinater

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
