Considering getting a second Axolotl when my new tank is finished cycling, can anyone recommend a place to buy in the UK so I can start to look into it. It would need to be an adult as my current axl is fully grown :D
Thanks

Sorry if this is in the the wrong section :(

Re: Axolotl's in the UK

Your best bet is in the for sale section of the forum, several breeders advertise on there including (but not exclusively) Auntie Jude and xxianxx.

Or you could come to BAKS in October, I know Auntie Jude will be there with some Axies for sale ;)

Thank you!

Had to Google 'BAKS' .. to far away for me :(

I can definitely recommend auntiejude as a breeder. I got both of my axolotls from her and they have both been happy and healthy with no issues. She also provided me with plenty of advice both as a beginner, and when I wanted to know how best to introduce a new axie to a tank.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
