My axolotl is about 5 months and ever since I got him I've been feeding him a half a cube of frozen blood worms but lately I've been feeding him a full cube and I was wondering if this is too much too soon?

It's not only age but size that matters. How big is your axie?
I would say one cube is a minimum for a 5 month axie assuming he is an average size of 4-5 inches. But I would switch to earthworms at 4-5 months anyway.

I switch to earthworms at about 2- 2 1/2 inches. I cut them to about the width of the head. They will only eat one piece to start and then two, three. I find they adjust very quickly to the switch. Blanch the worms first with really hot sink water before cutting.
