Hello everyone,

I have 4 axolotls they are about 13cm right now and even though I know it might be still too early to tell but maybe you guys can give me a hint as to what they are.

Thank you

They are too small to give a for sure answer. But the axie in the third picture in the first post looks like maybe a male? Hard to tell at this age though. -Seth

I'd make the same guess as Seth, but they are still too young and axies are known to surprise you. Sometimes what you thought was surely a female or male suddenly turns out to be the other.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
