Fluval Nano?

I've been looking for a good filter to put on my 20 gallon tank that isn't to expensive. I like the reviews and price of the Fluval Nano but I'm not sure it's suitable for a 20 gallon. It says it filters 92 gallons per hour without the spray bar. Would this be sufficient for my 20 gallon with 2 axolotls or is there a better one you'd recommend?

I don't have that particular filter, but I have a
Penn plax cascade 300 internal filter that is almost identical. I have one in a 20 long, as well as a pro hydro sponge filter. They keep the tank pretty clean, even with 3 axolotls. But mind you, I still do a partial water change once a week.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
