The last two months the gills of my axolotls have slowly been decreasing in volume, it looks like the gills are losing theit "fluff". They are regenerating the little red wires so at the tips theres a lot of little new ones.
Especially my dear spartacus isnt doing well, the tips of his gills are kind of colourless and are dropping downwards. I don't see a white haze, but I think it still might be a fungus?
Another thing with spartacus is that since a few days he has a little white dot under his eye. It kind of looks like an infection beneath it's skin, but thats what I conclude about when something gets infected with humans and when underneath the skin a white dot forms.
I've been having them for two years now and haven't changed anything frmo how i normally treat them. Any idea what might be wrong and how I could cure this?
